ACBSP holds the first workshop on scholar professional activities
On January 14, 2017, economics lecturers from FPT University branches in Hanoi and HCMC attended a workshop on scholar professional activities held by Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). This is the opening event in a series of scholar professional activities workshops by ACBSP at FPT University in 2017.
All of full-time and part-time lecturers from FPT University and those with an interest in scholar professional activities and ACBSP participated in the scholar professional activities workshop for the 2017 Spring Semester via Telepresence at FPT Headquarters (Hanoi) and Innovation Building (Ho Chi Minh City). Within the framework of the program, the guests better understood ACBSP’s scholar professional activities. In addition, the lecturers presented and exchanged views on science topics for research papers.
At the event, there were some presentations on the state and methods of scholar professional activities given by two speakers: Pham Hung Hiep – FPT University Training Manager (Topic: Context and trends in activities of scholar professional activities in Vietnam, Southeast Asia and the world) and Ph.D. Nguyen Tan Minh rom Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (Topic: Quantitative method of research).
It is said that this is the first workshop on ACBSP’s scholar professional activities at FPT Education. The program will be held periodically and in the near future it will be held in the middle of 2017 Spring and Summer semesters.
ACBSP stands for Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs. This is a U.S. organization offering accreditation services to business programs focused on teaching and learning.
In the US, ACBSP or AACSB are the two most prestigious accrediting bodies in the business school arena. In order to obtain ACBSP accreditation, business schools must have an overall satisfactory score in the following categories: Leadership; Strategic planning; Student and stakeholder focus; Student learning and performance; Faculty and staff focus and Educational and business process management.
